MTD Live from MACH22

Tuesday May 17 2022

MACH22 was an enormous success for Dugard, with orders taken and machines sold from the stand and plenty of customers to meet. During the show Paul Jones and the rest of the team at MTDCNC joined us on the stand for a bit more information about the machines we were showing.

Lyndsey Vickers interviewed our MD Eric Dugard about the show, the main interest from the visitors, and talked about the growth in the Hanwha and Ibarmia ranges, plus the expansion of the Dugard sales team to cover the whole of the UK.

Colin Grifiths spoke to Colin Thomson, Dugards sales director. They talked about producing milled components on Hanwha sliding head lathes. The Hanwha range covers 3mm to 45mm. The machine at the show has 5 driven tools, 5 turning tools and 5 static tools, sub spindle, plus 8 stations on the back with 4 Y axis to halve cycle times. It also comes with guide bush and non-guide bush options. Colin also shares a shining customer testimonial and covers the huge part stock in the UK.

David Rawson, our Northern area sales manager, spoke to Colin next about the major benefits and technical capabilities of the SMEC CNC turning centres.

Ross Love, our Scottish area sales manager, stepped in to talk to Paul about the Kitamura Medcenter. With its small 2m square footprint at 4.2 tonnes, unmanned lights out running, ideal for small and large batches, and the reliability and accuracy of 1 micron over the travel, the Medcenter is an amazing machine choice. It is extremely quiet, has 60 metres per minute capabilities and was originally made for engineering medical parts. The 30,000 RPM spindle comes as standard and allows easy programming from Kitamura’s FANUC friendly controls.

With Sia Baghaei, our technical director, giving all the information about the Kitamura Mytrunnion range, designed for larger parts, with more tools and flexibility for bigger parts. The workholding section has multiple parts on it, and can run unmanned, moving the machine to the part for more accuracy and rigidity. The swarf management is a big part of this machine, with a double-deck swarf conveyor. With 60 tools as standard and an option for 100 tools, it has easy access for tool changes. With anywhere remote, you can get updates remotely on status updates on the machine when running lights out.

With a healthy selection of machines available from stock, we’re sure you’ll find what you need at Dugard, get in touch for more info, a demo or a delivery.
