How was SteelFab 2016?
Yet again, SteelFab was an incredibly beneficial show for us, generating plenty of really strong enquiries. Our stand was a collaborative effort with our partners in the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) region, Aliyat who are also partnered with both Kenametal (tooling suppliers) and Cimcool (coolant products). Aliyat have had enormous success with both Kenametal and Cimcool, selling large quantities of both company’s products. So, being joined by them on the stand gave us the opportunity to make some great contacts with loads of new metal cutting customers, and we now have lots of great prospects for future machine tools sales.
One of the new developments at Dugard Middle East is our exclusive sales and service agency for Tos Varnsdorf in the Middle East and Iran. We’ve had the UK agency for a long time so it seemed like the next logical step to extend it when we opened our new Middle East office at the end of 2015. SteelFab was the perfect place to seal the deal and we were delighted to be joined on the stand by Miloš Holakovský, commercial director and Štĕpán Kříž, sales manager from Tos (pictured with our MD Eric and Olli our export director) to sign the official agreement. The Tos Varnsdorf brand was represented on the stand with an innovative 3D cinema room showing a virtual tour of Tos table type and floor borers, allowing stand visitors to interact with the machines in a 3D virtual environment. The 3D experience is a tremendous asset to show potential customers the inner workings and build features by removing the machine guards and covers – giving them a good idea how their projects could be worked on the machines.
