Great news from SteelFab 2015

Just as we expected, SteelFab 2015 was an excellent show – everyone on the stand was extremely busy selling a total of 17 machines and we also got some great news at our meeting with Samsung.

We launched our new range of Dugard Union Heavy Duty CNC lathes at the show, we had the 610 model on the stand and it was a big hit with the SteelFab visitors, such a big hit in fact that the show machine was sold straight of the stand.  The Dugard Union range has a great selection of heavy duty CNC lathes with large spindle bores, a rigid headstock, robust tailstock and 4 way automatic indexing turret as standard.  They’ve got a rigid bed and base as you’d expect from machines of this size and a wide carriage and cross slide design for greater cutting rigidity.  The machine we premiered at SteelFab was one of our flat bed CNC lathes and we’ll be introducing the slant bed CNC lathes shortly. 

That was only the start of the success of the machines on the stand – we also had one of our extremely popular Dugard 1000E VMCs, which has been proving very popular with the Middle East market over the last couple of years.  The E range of cost effective VMCs has always been a sought after range for us, the combination of precision engineering, a wide range of sizes and exceptional value for money has prompted a high demand for the E range, meaning that we always have to ensure a steady stream of stock.  We’ve been pleasantly surprised at the enthusiasm for the E Range with our Middle East customers, we’ve supplied a large number of these since their introduction in 2013 and the SteelFab visitors were just as keen to place their orders – not only did we sell the Dugard 1000E VMC that we were exhibiting but we also took orders for a further 13 machines, of every size in the range (760E, 1000E, 1350E, 1600E, 2000E)

The third and final machine we had on show was the Samsung PL45MC.  This machine is always a winner at shows with its wide range of features including live tools and full C axis.  And we’re pleased to report that we got a full house of sales this year, selling the Samsung PL45MC that we were showing that week as well!  We didn’t just sell that machine though, we left Sharjah with an order for a Samsung PL35 as well.

We’ve got a proud history with Samsung Machine Tools, announcing our collaboration at EMO 2011, the partnership has gone from strength to strength.  We were very pleased to welcome Mr Won – the president of Samsung Machine Tools – and Mr Kim – European and Middle East sales director – to the Dugard stand at SteelFab 2015.  We’re really happy to announce that the Samsung team took the opportunity to renew our exclusive agreement to supply Samsung Machine Tools throughout the UK, Middle East and certain parts of Europe.  All in all then SteelFab 2015 was a resounding success and we’ll definitely be booking our stand for next year!
