The annual Dugard go karting Grand Prix

Monday July 14 2014

It wasn’t quite Silverstone but the annual Dugard go karting grand prix was staged yesterday and it was a very competitive event – as you can see from the video Matt Dugard took of one of the races underneath!

Last year our illustrious leader, managing director Eric Dugard was victorious, this year he’s on machine tools business in Taiwan and China so the field was wide open.  As we all know, go karting is a non-contact sport and it seems there was just a touch of unsportsmanlike conduct – a little bit of argy bargy, a little bit of shunting, and I lot of name calling.  But, no one at our head office in Hove today has any obvious injuries, and no one’s lodging a formal complaint so it must all have been in good humour!

Eventually, after a very enjoyable afternoon at Q Leisure Go Karting near Brighton the final heat was staged and rostrum places were announced – with Keith Robertson as overall winner, Matt Dugard in second place and Connor Dugard in third.

It’s the British Open at Royal Liverpool this weekend, maybe we need a Dugard Open to follow it up?!  We’ll have to wait and see if the golfers in our office feel up to it…
